Thin Upload 2.0
We are pleased to announce the availability of version 2.0 of Thin Upload. Thin Upload is a general purpose web 2.0 file uploader. Once the applet is installed on your website, visitors can transfer complete folder trees to your server simply by dropping them on the browser.
All applets belonging to the Thin File Upload family allow for both static and dynamic configuration. Static configuration is straight forward. All that is needed is to enter the configuration data into the thinupload.properties file. With dynamic configuration, the properties file is generated using a server side programing language.
In version 2, you can configure the applet as before using the thinupload.properties file, however we have made it possible to directly embed configuration data into the html of the page that contains the applet. This new approach makes it even easier to dynamically generate different configurations for different users.
Another new addition to the applet is a new ‘compact’ progress monitor, which means you have three different progress monitors to choose from. That’s not all, we now give you the opportunity to control it’s positioning as well. In previous versions the progress monitor would appear at the top left hand corner of the screen. That remains the default location for it. However you can use the ‘monitor.position’ setting to move it to the bottom right, bottom left top left.
