Thin SFTP Applet Launched.
By it’s appearence the Thin SFTP client looks similar to the File Transfer Program that runs on any desktop computer. However the Thin SFTP applet is a secure alternative to the File Transfer Protocol. Even though FTP is one of the most widely used protocols used for file transfer and management it’s totally lacking in security.
The Thin SFTP client is an applet that is designed to be easily integrated into web applications. The goal is to provide users of your web site a secure, convenient and familiar form of file management. The Thin FTP applet is a feature rich software and includes all the functionality you find in your desktop FTP client, or our own Thin FTP Applet. Some of these features include the ability to upload and download entire directories trees in a single click, rename files and change permissions.
The applet makes use of the SFTP protocol rather than FTP. Though the two protocols have similar names they are completely different from each other with SFTP being a sub system of SSH. This is very different from tunnelling FTP over an SSH channel. The protocol ensures that all the data and commands that pass that back and forth between the client and the server are encrypted.
